Hallandale Beach City Marina sits at 101 Three Islands Boulevard on the Three Islands Waterway, just west of the boulevard's fixed bridge and just off the Intracoastal. It has 26 annual slips, 3 transient slips and a pump-out, and the city calls it the most southern dockage and pump-out facility in Broward County. The bridge beside it has 17 feet of clearance at mean water, which decides what can get in.

Along the Broward Intracoastal the manatee rule is slow speed within 50 feet of shore and 25 mph outside that, so boats at the marina and the Three Islands docks live in slow water. Slow water is where the growth stays put: props and shafts pick up hard barnacles, and the waterline grows an algae band that a diver takes off with soft brushes.

Golden Isles is a set of man-made islands joined by canals where nearly every home is on the water. On some maps part of it looks like Miami-Dade, but that land was moved into Broward County and annexed by Hallandale Beach in 1978. Broward County's regional seawall standard (Ordinance 2020-11, effective February 2020) requires tidal flood barriers of at least 5.0 feet NAVD88, with a 4.0-foot option for applications before 2035 if the wall is designed to reach 5.0 by 2050, and tidally influenced cities had 24 months to adopt matching rules. Hallandale Beach has also installed tidal check valves to hold back king-tide flooding.
