Piling Wrapping

Piling wraps are crucial in extending the lifetime of wooden pilings. Wooden pilings typically have a life span of 10-15 years when unwrapped. Wrapped pilings will extend the life of these pilings by at least 20 years on top of their normal life. 

When exposed to the elements, wooden pilings deteriorate quickly. Excessive oyster growth eats away at these pilings and hides the deterioration. Also, organisms called ship worms, bury themselves in these pilings and eat away from the inside out. These worms reproduce every 90 days and will cause these pilings to collapse. This can all be prevented by wrapping the pilings. Not only do the wraps protect the dock piling, it also increases the aesthetic of dock.

Barnacle Doctor uses the best marine grade tools to extend the life of your piling. We use black UV stabilized high density polyethylene material as our piling wrap and type 316 stainless steel nails. 

Our piling wraps cover the entire piling from the mud up to 2 ft above the high tide water line. This ensures your piling is protected from marine borers.
