Hull Cleaning, Dock & Seawall Divers in Miami Beach, FL

We clean boats at Miami Beach Marina on Alton Road, which has about 400 slips for boats up to 250 feet and sits next to Government Cut, the shipping channel that opened in 1905. We dive private docks on the Sunset Islands, on the Venetian Islands (San Marino, Di Lido, Rivo Alto and Belle Isle on the Miami Beach side), on La Gorce Island, built in the bay in 1924, and in the Normandy Isles up north.

Indian Creek is a big part of the work. It runs from the Dade Boulevard canal north past Allison Island to 71st Street, where it meets the Normandy and Tatum waterways, and the county's manatee plan names it as a preferred spot for transient docks. Government Cut is where Miami's official tides are measured, and every tide pushes clean ocean water into the south end of the city and pulls it back out. That flow keeps the water salty and warm, which barnacles love. Farther north, Indian Creek and the canals behind the islands are calmer, and a boat that sits there between weekends grows a thick algae band at the waterline.

There are two water-ski areas in the city, one between the Julia Tuttle Causeway and the Sunset Islands and one between Indian Creek Village and Biscayne Point, with a seasonal 35 mph limit from May through mid-November and slow speed the rest of the year. Boats used hard in summer and parked in winter are the ones that surprise owners in spring.

Miami Beach adopted a seawall ordinance in January 2021 and amended it in July 2025. New seawalls have to be built to at least 5.7 feet NAVD, or 4 feet if they are designed to be raised to 5.7 later, and a wall that is in disrepair or letting water through can be cited, with a deadline of 730 days from the notice to fix it. We don't set those heights, but our inspection documents the wall's condition and our repair fills cracks all the way through with custom cement tubes, which is what most citations come down to.
