Hull Cleaning, Dock & Seawall Divers in Hollywood, FL

Hollywood Marina is city-owned, at 700 Polk Street on the Intracoastal about 200 yards north of the Hollywood Boulevard bridge, at statute mile 1072. It has 54 wet slips with a 26-foot minimum and a 6-foot maximum draft, a fuel dock, a boat ramp and a pump-out. Just inland, North Lake and South Lake in Hollywood Lakes, the city's oldest neighborhood east of US 1 between Washington and Johnson Streets, were built for boating in the 1920s and still have docks along their edges.

Along the Broward Intracoastal the manatee rule is slow speed within 50 feet of shore and 25 mph outside it, and the Intracoastal from the Dania Cut-off Canal area south past Dania Beach Boulevard, plus the Whiskey Creek area, are slow-speed zones. Slow water and lake water have one thing in common for a hull: nothing scrubs it, so the diver does.

Harbor Islands is a gated community with homes on ocean-access canals and the Intracoastal, and its private docks are a regular stop. Hollywood Beach is the barrier island between the Intracoastal and the ocean where the marina sits (ZIP 33019), and ZIP 33020 covers the Lakes. At the north end of the city, part of Port Everglades is inside Hollywood, shared with Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach and unincorporated Broward. West Lake Park, the county's mangrove estuary just west of the Intracoastal on Sheridan Street, has a ramp and marina at its east end for boats that come and go.

Hollywood updated its seawall ordinance (O-2022-01) on February 2, 2022, setting construction standards for seawalls and tidal flood barriers that account for projected sea level rise, on top of the Broward County standard of at least 5.0 feet NAVD88. We don't build to those heights. What we do is clean a wall, inspect it, document its condition ($250 for a home, $350 for a multi-family or commercial property, lender paperwork included) and fill cracks all the way through with custom cement tubes.
