Hull Cleaning, Dock & Seawall Divers in Lake Worth Beach, FL

The C-51, the West Palm Beach Canal, forms the boundary between Lake Worth Beach and West Palm Beach and releases fresh water into the lagoon through the S-155 spillway. The canal was dug in 1925 and connected to Lake Okeechobee, and it brought significant fresh water into what had become a brackish lagoon once the inlets were cut. East of US-1 the canal is a year-round manatee slow-speed zone, and the lagoon shoreline from south of Peanut Island down to the Lantana bridge has a 300-foot slow zone, which covers every dock in the city.

Fresh water near the spillway changes the mix of the lagoon, so a hull at the north end of town grows differently than one down by the Lantana line, and the electrolysis around a dock, which sets how fast zincs wear, changes with it. We don't guess: the diver cleans every 30 days and records each anode's percentage.

Bryant Park, bounded by the Intracoastal, Lucerne Avenue and Federal Highway, has a two-lane public ramp with courtesy docks and trailer parking, and the boats that launch there go home dry. Our work is the boats that stay in the water at private docks along the lagoon, from the C-51 at the north end of ZIP 33460 to the Lantana line. The Lake Worth Beach Municipal Pier, built in 1954, is on the ocean side and marks the beach end of town.

Bulkheads line 81% of the Lake Worth Lagoon's shoreline, so most Lake Worth Beach waterfront is a seawall with a dock in front of it. Pilings in the 300-foot slow zone carry oysters from the mud up, and we clean them without pickaxes or chisels before inspecting them. A seawall inspection here is $250 for a home and $350 for a multi-family or commercial property, includes the lender-required documentation, and cracks are filled all the way through with custom cement tubes, quoted free in person.
